Are you sitting down for this? I hope so. There’s a burlesque studio in Plano! The town with the great debate — to hard liquor or not to hard liquor — is teaching ladies to dance not-quite-topless. Well, as with any time you dance it out, things get broken … hearts mostly, but occasionally mirrors. Which is precisely the situation these gals find themselves in. They need a new practice mirror, so they’re putting on their dance pants and throwing a fundraiser — Pasties for Progress. Join the girls you know and love (or will very soon) for an evening of burlesque featuring Molly Macabre and a host of others. Entrance is $20, or $25 for the VIP experience, and raffle tickets are $2 or three for $5. The event is BYOB and you must be 18 or older to attend. Hey, they’re not running an after-school program. Charge up your Smart Car and head to Art Centre Theatre, 5220 Village Creek Drive, Plano, at 8 p.m. Thursday.
