In a technology-forward world where one can do just about anything imaginable with a smart phone, it is hard to remember there are some things that have not yet been served by technological advances. Foremost amongst those things is a cure for AIDS. This year marks the 30th year since the discovery of the disease … and the struggle doctors and researchers have had in developing successful treatment methods. To shed light and bring awareness of this incurable disease’s presence in the world and in the DFW community, the Dallas arts community will join to host A Gathering: The Dallas Arts Community Reflects on 30 Years of AIDS at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora St. The event starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday and features performances in various mediums by some of Dallas’ most accomplished performing artists from The Dallas Opera, TITAS and the Dallas Black Dance Theatre, among many others.
