The 2009 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure celebrates its 27th year as part of the national 5K series sponsored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure. So you’re not an expert runner? Participants can choose to join either the 5K walk/run or the fun walk/run. All proceeds go to breast cancer screening, treatment, education and research in Dallas County. The race takes place Saturday at NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expressway. Races begin at 7:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome and can register either online or early at NorthPark Center Thursday and Friday. Registration is also available on the day of the race at 6:30 a.m. Registration fees range from $20 to $32. Visit komen-dallas.org.
