Scary thought—before long, the Barney generation will be running things in America. The Dallas-born show’s target audience has grown up since debuting in 1992; those purple dinosaur-lovers are teenagers now, and some are even old enough for college. Lord knows how long until fraternity and sorority hazing rituals mix their drunken, naked embarrassment with chants of “I LOVE YOU, YOU LOVE ME,” but no matter—there’s always a new generation of sponge-brained toddlers to warp with saccharine-sweet messages of love and friendship, which must be why the dopey dinosaur’s stage presentations, like this weekend’s Barney Live! The Let’s Go Tour at Nokia Theatre, 1001 Performance Place in Grand Prairie, still draw crowds. See Barney give B.J. lessons about sharing and caring. (You know, his “special pal” B.J., the yellow dinosaur. What’d you think we were saying?) Shows are at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $17 to $29. Call 214-373-8000.
Sat., May 6, 2 & 5:30 p.m.
