Shakespeare starts getting pounded into your head somewhere early in your high school experience, so much so that you begin to take it for granted. Sure, there’s that initial thrill when you read Romeo and Juliet for the very first time — seeing the lyrical twists and turns that inspired Baz Luhrman to pick that Butthole Surfers song for the soundtrack to his interpretation — but then some English teacher makes you read that paean to cannibalism Titus Andronicus and the prospect of spending time with the Bard starts to get a bit cumbersome. If that’s the case for you, shake it off and get reacquainted with the Bard when Shakespeare Dallas presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a staged reading at Hamon Hall in the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St., at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
