If you want to see some badass piano playing then get yourself a ticket to Haochen Zhang‘s performance in Fort Worth stat. Zhang became the youngest and the first Chinese competitor to win the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009. That’s a pretty big deal in a competition where you don’t just get a medal for effort. He’s been playing since he could reach the piano, and he’’ll be playing some of his favorites — works by Chopin, Brahms and Ginastera — during his concert on Tuesday. A good pianist is always fun to watch, but there’s nothing better than watching a good musician play music he really loves. Tickets start at $15. Call 817-738-6536 or visit cliburn.org.
