Bicycle fashion is way more than padded butts and sweaty no-nos. Sometimes it’s a flirty skirt and a floppy hat, and other times it’s whatever’s rumpled on the floor that the cat hasn’t peed on … yet. The point is, fashion makes the cyclist, and on Saturday, Dallas Cycle Style will be making one cyclist its poster child. Literally. The group will announce the people’s choice 2012 Face of Biking in Dallas and judge’s choice Favorite Cyclist Photographer. There will be lots of almost-free-flowing rum and blue agave (that’s tequila that’s made in Texas, not in Tequila, Mexico) from Railean Distillery and beer from Deep Ellum Brewery. So throw out a bent left arm and pedal on over to the Continental Lofts, 311 Elm St., from 9 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $10, which includes the booze tasting and benefits Pedal Power, a local organization that provides used bikes to those in need.
Sat., April 28, 9 p.m., 2012
