The McKinney Avenue Contemporary’s Blue Yule Artist Party and Ornament Sale is back for the 17th year in a row. And there’s a reason it’s been around long enough to be a senior in high school — it’s rad. Every year “emerging and established artists” create unique ornaments and works of art which are then silent auctioned off to the highest, quietest bidder. Last year more than 150 artists donated. That’s right, Blue Yule is more than a party, it’s a wildly successful fundraiser, too. If you’re looking to drop a little cash, here’s all the permission you need, straight from the MAC’s mouth — “Remember, the more you put into having fun now, the less we’ll have to wheedle and beg later on.” Preach. Head out for an evening of snacks, drinks, silent auctions, music, merriment and more from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $30 for non-members, $25 for members and $20 for students and teachers. Visit the-mac.org.
