Sure, it’s fun to go check out the hottest date spot on Friday night- sip a few cocktails and start to feel real sexy, then stare into the eyes of your lover for the next hour or so. But, if you’re looking for a night out with a bit more, um, substance- something with a little more IQ-boosting ability than dinner and drinks- check out the annual Summer Block Party in the Dallas Arts District on Friday. Start at the Dallas Museum of Art, then head on over to the Nasher Sculpture Center, and finish up at the Crow Collection at Asian Art. The museums have special activities and tours planned for art fans of all ages. And after all that mind stimulation, stick around until 9 p.m. to hear Polyphonic Spree light up the Ross Avenue Plaza. The band started making music back in 2000, and have been spreading the sound of positive energy ever since. The party kicks off at 6 p.m. and stretches all the way to midnight.
