Despite being an actual pain-in-the-ass dietary requirement for some, gluten-free is all the rage right now. Like the Atkins diet back in 2003, it seems every other person on the block is starting to adhere to the hip new diet. And why shouldn’t they? I mean, it’s not like bread and cookies taste awesome or anything. In an effort to up the deliciousness of gluten-free treats, the folks at Williams-Sonoma (2601 Preston Road), tucked inside Frisco’s Stonebriar Centre, are hosting a gluten-free baking class at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. In partnership with popular New York-based bakery BabyCakes, Williams-Sonoma will teach the fundamentals of cooking without pesky gluten. It’ll serve you well — that is, until a new, even more troublesome diet hits the masses. For more information and to make reservations, call 972-712-9455. If you miss Saturday’s class, the Highland Park Village location is offering it at noon Sunday, and other stores may have varying opportunities. Visit williams-sonoma.com.
