What do you get when you combine two icons of mystery and suspense? A pipe smoker with blonde ambition? A rounded silhouette with a penchant for deerstalkers? Sort of, not really, and something way more fun. In celebration of the birthday of the Master of Suspense, Sherlock’s Baker St. Pub & Grill (OK, so not the detective but his watering hole … sort of) presents Hitchcock Sundays throughout August. Mind those delicate, peckable eyes as Sunday brings The Birds at 8 p.m. Psycho, Rear Window and The Man Who Knew Too Much will be offered up on following Sundays. All are free of charge and come with a complimentary MacGuffin as well as popcorn while the kernels last. Live music follows each screening, but as of press time there was no confirmation as whether bands had committed to play the Alfred Hitchcock Presents theme song or what we like to call “Stabby-Stabby Eee-EEE” from Psycho. Sherlock’s is located at 9100 N. Central Expressway. Call 214-692-1111 or visit sherlockspub.com.
