We live in a digital world, but there’s still satisfaction to be found in holding a book. Less glare, for one thing. Even better–bookmaking captures and displays personal stories, art and history. Paper Nerds teaches what may become a lost art. At its next workshop, learn to sew a binding with a soft cover and exposed stitching on the spine, as well as how to sew a chain stitch for spine and cover decoration for journals, address books or artist’s books. The workshop is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Paper Works, 4101 Commerce St., Suite No. 6. The class is $75 and limited to seven participants. Call 214-827-0200 or visit papernerds.blogspot.com.
