Didn’t Christmas just end? Is it really time to take the decorations down from the attic and designate a day to decorate the house in red, white and green? I suppose if the calendar says so. Thanksgiving weekend marks the beginning of Christmas decor at home and at the Galleria. That’s right, the tree created for a giant’s house is back with state-of-the-art technology, approximately 225,000 lights, over 10,000 ornaments and the 10-foot lighted star topper atop the country’s tallest indoor tree. The Grand Tree Lighting Ceremonies will also bring U.S. Olympic team skaters and Missile Toes, the Galleria’s stunting, ice-skating Santa Claus. Of course there will be also music and a special visit from Santa himself, straight from the North Pole. Ceremonies are free and begin Thanksgiving weekend at noon Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday, continuing through the season at 5 p.m. on December 5, 12 and 19 at the Galleria Dallas, located at LBJ Freeway and the Dallas North Tollway.
