When the days grow shorter and the leaves rattle on the trees, while pumpkins begin to appear beside front doors to await their violent, eviscerated ends, lots of people put on spooky seasonal shows calculated to appeal to those who love this macabre time of the year (anyone who has any sense of fun). The Rosewood Center is following suit with its third production of The Mummy’s Claw, where kids and parents alike can go and enjoy that suspicious, superstitious feeling of the season (better than Christmas). Many of the original cast members reprise their roles in The Mummy’s Claw, a play in the Agatha Christie/Monty Python tradition. It’s doubtful you’ll see any coconut horses, cheeseless cheese shops or singing lumberjacks, more’s the pity, but prepare to have your spine and funny bone tingled simultaneously. After all, how could a “madcap life or death struggle in the Valley of the Nile” complete with British house party guests, an Egyptian mummy and a bit of romance go wrong? The Rosewood Center for Family Arts is located at 5938 Skillman St., Dallas. Showtimes at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sundays through November 1.
