The war on drugs has been going on since the 1970s, and in that time it has seen a great deal of change, but what effect have those changes had, and are they enough? Mothers Against Teen Violence presents The Texas Conference on Drug Policy, a three-day event exploring what’s being done to combat drugs and addiction in our society and how we can improve those policies for the future. The event includes a multitude of speakers, among them state Representative Jerry Madden and physician and author Gabor Mat, as well as academics, medical specialists and law enforcement professionals from around the state. The event runs from Wednesday through January 13 at the Hall of State in Fair Park. Ticket prices range from $25 to $110. Call 214-565-0422 or visit matvinc.org for an event schedule and further information.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 9 a.m. Starts: Jan. 11. Continues through Jan. 13, 2012
