Here’s a question people rarely think about when they wake up in the morning: Would the world be better with or without Charles Manson and the Order of the Rainbow? Through March 10, that’s exactly what audiences of the Ochre House will be mulling over. Matthew Posey and his cast of talented actors will tackle the first meeting of Manson, Charles “Tex” Watson and Squeaky Fromme in the comedy musical– that’s correct, a comedy musical – Mean. In it, things get weird in a Twenty-nine Palms bar, when the trio meet and realize they’re in the midst of a full-on battle between Satan and God’s messengers. Oh, and did we mention that Satan is the manifestation of Grand Ol’ Opry singer Dale Evans and God’s peeps are Black Elk and Sacagawea? Well, now we have. Digest that for a moment. In short, the divine trio brings the sinister one together – but for what purpose? Figure that answer out 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays at Ochre House, 825 Exposition Ave. Tickets are $15.
