Probably by singing a song that can be commonly heard as a ringtone, somebody is going to win Eagle Idol 3: The Search for a Mean Green Superstar, the University of North Texas’ version of the show American Idol. Judges will weed out the delusional, but the audience will choose the finalists, runners up and winner. The “Eagle Idol” will then walk away with a recording session at UNT’s Center for Media Production, a spot performing at Spring Fling and some cash. Runners-up also receive prizes—probably a UNT T-shirt, which will be used to dry away the tears of shame and failure. Vote for your favorites 7 p.m. Thursday in the UNT Lyceum, third floor of the University Union. Entry is $2 or free to UNT students. Call the University Program Council office at 940-565-3825 for more information.
