Last time Memphis and Dallas faced off, the Grizzlies mauled Mavs’ forward Dirk Nowitzki. Well, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. Nowitzki suffered back strain during the first half of the game and opted to sit out the remainder of the game, scoring only a single point, overall. This was just one of misfortunes that befell Dallas, leaving them flailing in the second half and ending the night with 96-85 loss. This time around, the Grizzlies might not have the fortune of seeing a Mavs’ star player knocked out of the game, but Memphis can certainly rely on a formidable defense that has defined their season so far. The question remains, “is that a defense Dallas can overcome?” The tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the American Airlines Center. Ticket prices vary.
