I’ve entered a few art contests in my time, but I’d have to say the most memorable was the time I got to meet Pudge Rodriguez for drawing his face better than anyone else at the Boys & Girls Club. I haven’t worked up the courage to really pursue an actual contest since then, but about 40 professional artists from Dallas have, and they’ll be presenting their accepted entries at the 7th Annual Hecho en Dallas art exhibition. The exhibition is designed to showcase the recent work of professional artists who reside and are active in the artistic environment of the Dallas area. This year’s display features works ranging from digital photography to collages on wood. Hecho en Dallas is on display 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, beginning Friday and running through April 24 at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St. Admission is free. For more information, call 214-670-3320 or go to dallasculture.org/latinocc.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: March 11. Continues through April 24, 2010
