Spring break is here, but that doesn’t mean you need to let your brain rot. Nope. In fact, what if we were to tell you that you could embrace fair weather, the city’s best culture and even see a wonderful movie outdoors, for next to nothing? (I’m asking because that’s all real stuff, so get excited.) Yes! It’s the Arts District Spring Break Block Party. On Friday, Flora and Harwood streets will be closed down till midnight so that you can roam easily between the Nasher Sculpture Center (2001 Flora St.), the Dallas Museum of Art and the Crow Collection. At the Nasher, where admission is half-price for the week’s daytime entry, you’ll get free a King Bucks concert and a screening of The Fantastic Mr. Fox (6 p.m. to midnight). There are also late-night snacks available at the food trucks parked in the common spaces, and gourmet picnic baskets available from the Nasher Café (pre-order only, 214-242-5144). Late night admission to the Nasher, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Crow Collection is free. Visit nashersculpturecenter.org or thedallasartsdistrict.org.
