In a celebration of all things fatherly, the 18th Annual Dadfest takes place this weekend in Richardson. The early-morning event, anchored by a 5K run, couldn’t be for a better cause. All proceeds benefit the Urology Research & Education Foundation. Walkers are also welcome, but of course, looked down upon (ha, we kid). In addition to the 5K, a father-son lookalike contest will be held, followed by a Diaper Dash. While you may understandably choose to pass on the latter, the 5K begins at 8:15 a.m. in Richardson’s Galatyn Park, Galatyn Parkway at US 75. Event registration costs $25 through race day, and $10 for those under the age of 12. For more information, check out dadfest.com.
