Imagine a day on the beach: warm weather, a fruity drink and the sounds of a ukulele being played in the distance. OK, so a day on the beach may sound pretty awesome, but let’s face it, the nearest beach is about six hours away and not everyone is willing to drive that far for just said day away. The Third Annual Lone Star Uke Fest is back and ready to bring the beach sounds to Dallas. “Bach to Texas with Aloha” will present artists like Michelle Kiba, The Wahooligans and Kimo Hussey. These artists, along with many others, will showcase Johann Sebastian Bach favorites using their ukuleles, Texas swing and Aloha spirit. The festival will also feature free beginner ukulele classes, workshops, vendor exhibits and seated dinners. “Bach to Texas” lasts Thursday through Saturday. Attendees can enjoy music throughout each day, beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Holiday Inn Select, 2645 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.
