The three string players that make up Time for Three met when they were students at Philadelphia’s renowned Curtis Institute for Music. Two violinists and one double bass, they soon discovered that their talents lay beyond just performing classical music (which they do brilliantly). This group’s eclectic, energetic sound bounces between classical, jazz and good old-fashioned fiddling. Song selections include everything from Bach to Kanye West. They take the stage at The Live Oak (1311 Lipscomb St., Fort Worth) at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets to this casual night of mesmerizing string playing are $20 and available on the Cliburn’s website, cliburn.org.
Tue., April 29, 8 p.m., 2014
