We’re all casting an eye to the future for 2a15, hoping for bigger, better things. But there’s still value in looking to the past–particularly when that past consists of gilded, jazzy parties that evoke a free-wheeling, glittery spirit. The Singapore Slingers bring all the sounds and sights of pre-swing America to your end-of-year celebrations during their New Year’s Eve party at The Kessler, 1230 West Davis, on Wednesday, January 31 from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Dress to the nines for a night of champagne, indulgent desserts, and dance floor exploits that include foxtrots, waltzes, rumbas, and tangos. Matt Tolentino’s 18-piece orchestra cranks out the hits of the 1920s, 30s and 40s for a blast-from-the-past party that will kick off 2015 right. Tickets to the dancing and dessert-filled extravaganza are $25 to $55 at prekindle.com.
