Whether you’re a fan of grinding asphalt or just grinding greasy barbecue into your face, Journeys Backyard Barbeque Tour has what you need. Sponsored by those purveyors of Chuck Taylors and all kinds of puffy skateboarding shoes, the event features live demonstrations by skateboard, wakeboard, BMX and motocross athletes. The event will be loaded with XGames and Metal Mulisha stars, featuring old-school skateboard champion Christian Hosoi, wakeboard world champion Scott Byerly and more. Christian metal band P.O.D. will be also perform a free concert, no doubt playing their hit song “Youth of the Nation” to an audience that is not quite as youthful as when they first had it stuck in their collective heads. The live music will also include a Battle of the Bands featuring local musicians. The boarders, bikers and wakeboarders start catching air at noon at Grapevine Mills Mall, 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway, Grapevine. Admission is free.
