“Cinderelly, Cinderelly.” Beloved fairy tale. How you enthrall us, with your pumpkin chariots and bird wardrobe stylists. And yet, you engage us with your love story. Not to mention the fact that you make us wish for a fairy godmother of our own. It’s a fairy tale classic for a reason, and Casa Manana is doing its part to tell it to the next generation and those who may be (ahem) a few years beyond their first telling, when they bring it onstage. Cinderella taught us that not all families are perfect; that unlikely friends can salvage impossible situations, and the strongest spells don’t break at midnight. It’s a rags-to-riches-to-rags story that sends a scullery maid to the ball and back, and with only her left-behind shoe, she proves herself to be the one true love of the handsome prince. And spoiler alert: They live happily ever after. Cinderella shows at 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 5 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through April 19 at Casa Manana Theatre, 3101 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $15 to $17. Call 817-332-2272 or visit casamanana.org.
Fridays, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 5 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: April 2. Continues through April 18, 2010
