Perhaps the only scene more fickle and catty than a seventh-grade class, Hollywood is a dangerous, glamorous place that’s known to chew up and spit out the popular kids with as much abandon as the fringy, nerdy ones. Cases in point: Ingrid Bergman’s banishment in the ’50s for having the gall to become pregnant by her lover, or the perpetual punch line that is Lindsay Lohan’s life. Ben Elton’s award-winning play, Popcorn, captures Hollywood’s vicious nature with a sharp-tongued tale of murder and deceit set at the Academy Awards. Popcorn runs through October 7 at Theatre Three, 2800 Routh St. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sundays, with a special 2 p.m. matinee October 3.
