Holiday stories have been done many different ways. There are comforting storybooks, quaint cartoons, heartwarming movies, frothy ballets and even sparse Christmas plays. In so many of these, the cheery holiday message takes center stage, while the medium takes a backseat. Not so with Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas. This charming tale of a bird who makes friends in the North Pole when he’s blown from his migration course is brought to life in a vivid spectacle of light. Electroluminescent wire is used to craft the characters and the set; it’s the very definition of merry and bright — an in-the-dark show that ignites and astonishes, with the help of your favorite holiday tunes. See the event that brings new meaning to the term “holiday lights” at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the historic Majestic Theatre (1925 Elm St). Tickets are $27.50-90 at prekindle.com.
