Beer people don’t need much prodding to attend a dinner dedicated to extolling the virtues of beer. It’s sort of a non-challenge. In the case of the Libertine Bar Saint Arnold Beer Dinner, we really just have to mention the name of the event and brewsters will be warming up their beer-lifting arms. For the non-ale-ing, however, this beer dinner is a chance to turn newbies on to the joys of the heady sips of Divine Reserve 11, Divine Reserve 12, Divine Reserve 9 (Pumpkinator), a firkin of Winter Stout and Bishop’s Barrel No. 1, and the way to do it is by way of — get this — lamb spanakopita, candied pecan and arugula salad with warm bacon dressing, squash angalotti, steak involtini, truffled cheesecake and so much more by the talented Chef Roe DiLeo. It’s a little difficult not to salivate all over yourself now, isn’t it? Don’t worry, it’s cool, just call for a reservation (required) and promise to pay your $50. It’s happening at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Libertine, 2101 Greenville Ave. Call 214-824-7900.
