So after 70 years of flying around in a bustier and red knee-high boots, Wonder Woman finally gets a new outfit. How’s that for a feminist superheroine? Rising Gallery is coming to the rescue of area teen mothers and their children with its exhibit, I Am Woman, featuring 18 prominent female artists from the metroplex with original works based on the most estrogen-filled feminine qualities: love, beauty, passion and power. All proceeds benefit Alley’s House, a nonprofit that supports, mentors and teaches independence to teen mothers. The exhibit’s open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday at the Rising Gallery, 4631 Insurance Lane. For more information, call 214-634-6262 or visit risinggallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: July 15. Continues through July 31, 2010
