Mercy Wine Bar is so 972 it’s not even funny. But it’s about the only spot that can make me trek north of 635, lay aside my 214 pride and commingle with suburbia. The food is good. The lights are dimmed to perfection. And minus the Ashworth golf shirts and boob jobs, I find Mercy’s North Dallas crowd totally tolerable. Plus, their wine list is impeccable (a good thing since we’d expect nothing less from an establishment with “Wine Bar” in its name). Their wine guy, Vincent Havard, surely knows his stuff, and if you want to know yours, Mercy can help. On Wednesday (and every Wednesday) Mercy hosts a wine tasting featuring a fresh fruit and cheese buffet.
