Remember that kid in school who made you look bad by going the extra mile, incorporating lustrous glitter or even computer printouts into his poster project? Yeah, that kid is back in the form of Michael A. Morris, dazzling the arts scene with his mixed-media solo installation, It’s Just Meant to Be, on exhibition at Oliver Francis Gallery through February 25. Leaving no artistic stone unturned, Morris utilizes 16mm film, alternative process photography and audio components to examine “the difficulty of assigning meaning to a given event or situation, how people’s lives are preserved in media, and how those media can be decoded by various processes.” Open daily from 6 to 10 p.m. at 209 S. Peak St., Oliver Francis Gallery — known for avant-garde exhibitions by counter-establishment, emerging artists — also invites you to a special live performance of “expanded cinema works by Michael A.
