Girls on the Run of DFW brings LUNAFEST traveling film festival to Dallas on Thursday. The one-night-only event will be held at the Studio Movie Grill off North Central Expressway near Spring Valley. The evening will begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by a screening of selected short films by women filmmakers at 7. Stick around afterward for a panel discussion. Among the shorts being screened is “The Littles,” by local actress and filmmaker Melody Brooker. All proceeds from the night benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the DFW chapter of Girls on the Run, which is on a mission to get women into running shoes and in turn, to become more empowered. General admission starts at $20. Visit lunafest.org, or get tickets at the door.
