It seems like everyone in Dallas has literature on the mind lately thanks in large part to Oak Cliff’s massively popular Wild Detectives and Will Evans’ brand new publishing house Deep Vellum. As much as we love both organizations it might be worth some of your time to get to know the group that kind of started it all. On Monday, Wordspace is hosting their season kickoff party and you’re invited. The event will take place at the Wild Detectives (where else!?) and it’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about one of Dallas’ oldest and most active literary promoters. For those who don’t know, Wordspace hosts everything from poetry slams to book clubs to author events and pretty much everything related to language in between. They’ll be announcing what they’ve got cooking for the new year over drinks and appetizers. The action kicks off at 7 p.m. Monday at Wild Detectives (314 W. 8th St.).
