We’re getting old. Remember the days when skateboarding, BMX, inline skating and freestyle motocross were called extreme (or, for that matter, even punk)? Well, those days are gone—we are now pleased to inform you about the LG Action Sports World Championships for the above mentioned activities. Qualifications for this event are based on results from the 2006 contest season, so the caliber of competitor is high. Only the top 50 pros from each sport will qualify, and when it’s all said and done 300 top professional and amateur names in (ahem) action sports will be present, including BMXer Dave Mirra, skateboarder Bucky Lasek and more. The event also includes afternoon and evening performances by national bands (and locals the Burden Brothers on Saturday evening), an interactive sponsors expo, graffiti artists, video games, breakdancing, DJs, autograph signings, industry video premiers, sponsor booths, interactive exhibits and probably many stickers and other forms of swag. Get on the Rascal and go Friday through Sunday at Reunion Arena, 777 Sports St. Visit lgactionsports.com.
