There’s a sour grapes saying that those who can’t “do,” teach. It’s usually said by a hoity-toity “artiste” who fancies himself above those who choose to spend time educating the next generation of hoity-toity “artistes.” The faculty at the University of North Texas debunks that with a showcase of recent works in photography, drawing, fashion, interiors and more. Exhibiting artists teach, do and equip aspiring artists (and aspiring art teachers!) to do the same. The University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design’s Annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition is on view from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through September 29 at the UNT Art Gallery, one block west of Mulberry and Welch streets on the UNT campus. Admission is free. Call 940-565-4005 or visit gallery.unt.edu.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Aug. 27. Continues through Sept. 29, 2007
