I spent most of my high school years living under the delusion that I would one day be Mrs. John Linnell. I mean seriously, who doesn’t love a floppy-haired goofball with an accordion? Alas, my dreams were thwarted by that crazy thing called reality, but for the record, They Might Be Giants taught me much more than any of the educators at Garland High School. With more than a dozen albums under their belts, these musical geniuses taught me everything I needed to know about Istanbul (no, not Constantinople), palindromes and that mass of incandescent gas that we call the sun. Let They Might Be Giants educate and entertain you 8 p.m. Tuesday at House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St. Tickets are $22.50 to $35. Call 214-978-BLUE or visit ticketmaster.com.
