Turns out that whole green thing wasn’t a fad after all. Thanks a lot, people from the Northeast. Well, at least we got one good thing out of it — adrenaline rushes when we litter. Just kidding. We have eco-friendly fashion, of course, and there’s no better place to check out the latest from local designers than Organic in the City Fashion Show at Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday. During the event, models will wander about while you throw back complimentary Champagne, wine, hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Around glass number three or dessert number five, you’ll start thinking you need to own something, and you’ll be in luck. There’s an Eco Boutique at the show. Tickets are $35 in advance, $30 at the door or $25 for students and Texas Discovery Gardens members. Complimentary valet is also included so go wild and wear your highest up-cycled heels. Visit texasdiscoverygardens.org for more info or to purchase a ticket.
