To open its 2014/2015 Pops Season, The Dallas Symphony orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik have enlisted the help of some exceptionally talented dancers. On Friday, September 5th at 7:30pm, the orchestra will present “Let’s Dance,” a concert of music that spans centuries of music history and a variety of styles of toe-tapping, hip-swinging music. From romantic waltzes to sexy tangos and sizzling cha-chas, the orchestra will provide live accompaniment to talented professional dancers who will tap, swing, jive and lilt on the stage of the Meyerson Symphony Center. Leonard Bernstein’s classic “Overture to West Side Story” opens the concert that also features classical music by Strauss and Bizet and medleys of 1950s-era swing and dance music. The Meyerson Symphony Center is located at 2301 Flora St. in the arts district downtown. Snag your tickets at www.mydso.com or by calling the box office at 214-TIX-4DSO.
