The Dallas International Film Festival has come and gone, and we only have two months until the Oak Cliff Film Festival unloads another warm laundry basket of cinema onto our laps. Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) is the brain trust, and you should trust said brain on this Monday night documentary doubleheader. Chasing Ice documents National Geographic photographer James Balog’s quest to document climate change, and features footage of a glacier in Greenland cleaving in half, the slowly cracking ice both epic and ominous. Bidder 70 tells the story of economics-student-turned-activist Tim DeChristopher, who infiltrated a 2008 Utah land-sale auction in protest, and was subsequently arrested. Sounds like a great date night to me! Call 214-948-1546 or visit thetexastheatre.com.
