Why you no dance, Dallas?
691 people. That’s all they needed from you, Dallas. So, why you no dance!
Let’s back up for a second. What are we talking about? Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the the AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Largest Remote Dance Lesson was to break the Guinness World Record for, you guessed it, the largest remote dance. Awesome, right? As we pointed out on Friday, you didn’t need to be a Juilliard grad or a member of Billy Elliot the Musical–an excited hip to thrust was all that was necessary.
So, on Saturday just outside the Winspear, about 30 or so courageous and awesome souls showed up to shake their booties in the name of breaking a cool record. So, we ask again, why you no dance, Dallas? It was hot, sure — like, cook a Morton’s steak to perfection on the asphalt hot. And sure, none of us from the Observer were able to attend (note: one of us had serious cat-vomiting issues). No. Excuses.

691 people! That’s all they needed to break the record. To all of us: there’s always an reason not to dance, but the best moments of our lives will inevitably end up with some sort of dance gesticulation. So, next time, let’s turn it up, OK?
