In our younger years, we were more impressed by the songs and costumes than the choreography in the Broadway version of The Lion King, but now we have a whole new appreciation for the art of modern dance. The man behind the moves in that award-winning musical is Garth Fagan, the same man who has been the artistic director of his own New York-based dance company, Garth Fagan Dance, for 40 years. The company is in town as part of the UNT Fine Arts Series, and you can watch the interpretive dance troupe perform 8 p.m. Thursday at the Margo Jones Performance Hall at TWU, 1600 North Bell Ave. in Denton. Admission is $30, $15 for faculty and seniors, free for UNT students with ID. Call 940-565-3805.
