Christmas is a celebration for many people out there, but for the brides of Christ, there’s undoubtedly a bit of work involved too. You have to put on a quality celebration for the hubby, after all. The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre presents Nuncrackers, a festive musical comedy that follows Sister Mary Regina and her troupe of singing nuns as they rush to tape a public access Christmas special in the convent’s studio basement. The show includes such original numbers as “Christmas Time is Nunsense Time” and “Santa Ain’t Comin’ to Our House,” culminating in a parody of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet. Nuncrackers is the fourth chapter in a series of sequels and spin-offs from Dan Goggin’s Nunsense series of comedic cabaret-turned-off-Broadway musicals. The show runs through December 18 at the historic Greater Lewisville Theatre, 160 W. Main St., Lewisville. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and children. Call 972-221-7469 or visit glct.org for more information.
Thu., Dec. 15, 8 p.m.; Fri., Dec. 16, 8 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 17, 8 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 18, 3 p.m., 2011
