Railroads are tied to Dallas history. They are one of the biggest reasons Dallas could become such a sizable city without being on a major body of water, and now our fair burg hosts one of the finest railroad museums in the southwest. The museum, in turn, hosts A Valentine’s Day Celebration. This Cupid’s day event boasts authentic dining car recipes served aboard the museum’s restored 1937 MKT Dining Car, complete with a champagne reception, appetizers, entertainment and a red rose for the ladies. So, talk trash on Valentine’s Day if you wish, but if it creates excuses for dining like this, we’re all aboard. Dinner in the Diner is Thursday at the Museum of the American Railroad, 1105 Washington St. in Fair Park. Advance ticket purchase is required; call 214-428-0101.
