Our recent Best of Dallas issue gave Best Beer Festival honors to Big Texas Beer Fest, a massive and well-run celebration of suds in Fair Park, and Best Festival to Untapped, which combined a great indie-music lineup with excellent beer curation. So what happens when the people behind BTBF and Untapped bring their boozy brains together? We start scrambling to create another festival award category, and they start a Texas Brewvolution, with an emphasis on Texas breweries along with select craft beers imported from far-off countries like Belgium and California. The event kicks off North Texas Beer Week — eight days (a week of beer deserves an extra day) featuring dozens of beer-related events at bars, restaurants and breweries throughout DFW. Texas Brewvolution will be from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with 1 p.m. VIP entrance, at the Centennial Building in Fair Park, 1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd. Shotgun Friday, The Roomsounds and the Hanna Barbarians provide the music. General admission is $35 with VIP privileges for $60. Visit texasbrewvolution.com.
