Though I shudder at the thought of clowns, I love the circus. Tigers, elephants, high-wire acts, cotton candy, pony rides…and it all goes to a good cause. Well, normally it all goes into the owner’s pocket, but the Moslah Shriners’ 66th Annual Shrine Circus–put on by the guys that wear the fez hats–benefits sick kids. So through the simple act of taking a camel ride, buying a hot dog and oohing over some elephant tricks, you’re doing a good thing. The circus runs through Saturday at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum, 3401 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $17 to $20, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Though I have to warn you, there will be clowns. Visit ticketmaster.com.
Oct. 10-18, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 12, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 10. Continues through Oct. 18, 2008
