There are many reasons to see The Book of Mormon, the Broadway musical by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez. It won nine Tony Awards; Parker and Stone, the geniuses behind South Park, proved they know show tunes with the brilliant big-screen South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut; also, critics and even a fair number of Mormons loved this comedy about a pair of incompetent missionaries sent to spread Joseph Smith’s good word in a Ugandan village ruled ruthlessly by the clitoris-fearing General Butt-Fucking Naked. Yes, these are all good reasons to see The Book of Mormon when it returns Dallas for a 12-day run at the Winspear Opera House (2403 Flora St.) starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Male fans of South Park who remember the “Broadway Bro Down” episode, however, will know the bestest reason of all. Maybe on Valentine’s Day with a date. It’s subliminal, bro.
