OK, so I didn’t grow up in the 1980s, but I took my very first look at the world in 1988, so technically, I’m an ’80s kid, and I do have bragging rights to all of the sweet clothes, cheesy music and daring hairdos. With tons of chances to experience the ’80s again–Mondays at Rubber Gloves, Thursdays at Hailey’s and Saturdays at House of Blues–this ’80s night is truly unique. In hopes of raising enough money to purchase equipment and perform medical procedures for animal rescue group Paws in the City, Hairballs and Hair Bands will host a night of live ’80s music by tribute band Live 80, cardboard icons, prizes for best costume and a special menu. Hairballs and Hair Bands will take place in the House of Blues Voodoo Lounge, 2200 Lamar St., from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday. For more information, visit hairballsandhairbands.com.
