I saw Betty Buckley perform a couple years ago, and even though I couldn’t get her crazy lady cameo in The Happening out of my head, the show was still incredible, as Buckley performed standards and hits from her Broadway days like the weeper “Memory” from Cats. She blew me away, because at her age the Tony Award winner still has pipes you can’t ignore, hitting notes with the flash of a gymnast, arms raised in a perfect landing. The Fort Worth native is back in her hometown performing her show “Betty Buckley: Broadway by Request.” Buckley and her accompanist John McDaniel will be taking requests and performing a few of their own favorites. Performances 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St, Fort Worth. Call 972-252-2787 for tickets or more information.
Sat., Aug. 29, 8 p.m.; Sun., Aug. 30, 7 p.m.; Mon., Aug. 31, 7 p.m., 2009
