Welcome to another edition of Geek-Offs , where you’ll find the perfect distractions to help you muddle your way through hump day each week.
Sometimes boys screw up pretty badly. Sure, they could buy some flowers, send a singing telegram or even grovel like there’s no tomorrow, but with this week’s Geek-Offs selection, One and One Story, it looks like Mattia Traverso may have found this generation’s sweet serenade.
We’re pretty sure Traverso went and pissed off his girl something fierce, so the 18-year-old did what any self-respecting game dev would do — he built a game.
The short game is a simple platformer where the rules evolve as the story advances: Boy meets girl, boy rescues girl, girl runs away, boy is rendered helpless, so on and so forth. The object of the game is to reunite the boy and girl shadow people by avoiding spikes and deathly falls all in the name of love, but — as in the real world — the rules keep changing and it’s up to you to figure out just what it is you’re supposed to do.
